What type of rooms do you offer?
We offer many types of rooms, these are representative of the style and décor of room type however, each room can differ to some degree.
Do you have ADA accessible rooms?
What time is check-in and check out?
Rooms are available for check-in at 4 pm. Check-out is at 11 am. While we will make every effort to accommodate early arrivals, we cannot guarantee room availability before 4 pm.
What in-room amenities do you have?
We have many in-room amenities to make your stay more enjoyable including complimentary Wi-Fi, in-room safes, premium cable channels, in-room phone and voicemail, Frette linens, clock radio, coffee/tea maker, iron and ironing board, heated marble bathroom floors, eco-friendly bath amenities, and oversized showers.
Are your fireplaces wood burning?
No, we have gas fireplaces in all indoor and outdoor common areas and all guestrooms with fireplaces.
Does my reservations require a deposit?
A deposit of the first night's stay is charged at the time of reservation.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made by 4pm at least 14 days prior to arrival will result in a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations or changes to dates of the stay made within 13 days of the scheduled arrival date will result in forfeiture of your deposit. Early departures will be charged the amount of the stay in full. To cancel a reservation please call 855-271-2809.
Can I arrange for a gift or flowers on arrival?
Absolutely! We'd love to help you arrange that little something special. You can arrange this during your reservation process. It can also be arranged with our reservations team, press option 1 should you decide to do something after, however if it is arranged within 24 hours of your arrival it may not be in your room upon check-in.
Do you offer any kind of discount, AARP or AAA, etc.?
We do not offer any discounts, but we do have a variety of special packages, including seasonal specials.
How can I contact reservations?
Is there a two-night minimum?
On weekends there can be a two-night minimum during peak occupancy times as well as a three-night minimum for some holidays and larger town-wide events. If you would like to stay with us you can view available dates and see what packages may be available during that time.
Do you have a bellman?
200 Main is not a full-service hotel and does not have a bellman on staff.
Can I have packages shipped there before I arrive?

Is there laundry service or washing machines available?

What hikes and outdoor activities can we do in Highlands?
The Highlands-Cashiers Plateau offers a variety of outdoor activities, including golf, hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, fly-fishing, canoeing, zip lining, tubing, an alpine coaster, gem-mining, scenic drives, and overlooks. Tennis courts are available at The Farm and Old Edwards Club. How can we learn more about the history of Highlands?
Highlands, named for its elevation of 4118 feet, was founded in 1875 and has a rich and varied history. The Highlands Historical Society Museum is open Thursday - Saturday seasonally and is located at 524 N. 4th Street. Is there a restaurant on property?
No. However we do have a selection of Grab-and-Go snacks in the lobby and a great many restaurants in the area ranging from fast food to casual and fine dining. Our dining guide will give you a wide variety of options to try while staying in Highlands.
Where can we go for dinner, and do we need to make a reservation?
There are many great restaurants in Highlands, our dining guide will give you options for casual dining all the way to fine dining. We would suggest, particularly with fine dining, that you call the restaurant to see if you need to make a reservation. Old Edwards restaurants are in the green boxes on the guide, and as a guest of 200 Main you have room-signing privileges.
What restaurants in Highlands are kid-friendly?
Whether you want to grab a quick sandwich to eat on your way to a fun adventure or to have a sit-down lunch or dinner, there are some awesome options for your family. Subway in Highlands Plaza, Mountain Fresh on Main Street for a quick bite, and in our dining guide you will find Four65 Woodfire Bistro and Bar, where as a guest of 200 Main you have signing privileges, Highlands Burrito, Blue Bike Cafe, 4118 Kitchen and Bar, Don Leon's, The Secret Garden and more!
Where can we go for beer and cocktails in Highlands?
Highlands has excellent choices for a casual beer through to award-winning Wine Spectator wine cellars, such as Madison's (ask to see the wine list). The Ugly Dog, High Dive, Four65, and 4118, will give you great options for anything from beer to cocktails, and more. If you want an elevated experience, Hummingbird Lounge, The Rooftop Terrace, and The Wine Garden are sure to please. Find all the details in our Dining Guide. As guests of 200 Main, you have room-signing privileges at all Old Edwards locations.
Can we get breakfast at 200 Main?
200 Main does not serve breakfast. However, as a guest of 200 Main, you have access to breakfast for purchase at Madison's where you have room signing privileges. We offer great packages that include breakfast, one of which is our Rise and Dine package.
HOTEL FAQS
Do you have a fitness room?
Yes, you can work out in our fitness room with our state of the art Cybex Arc trainers and treadmills, along with an FT 325 functional trainer and bike at the ready for guests wanting to work out. Free weights and yoga equipment are also available. Please note, guests below the age of 18 are not allowed to be in the fitness room unattended.
Is your pool heated?
Yes, our outdoor saltwater pool is heated and open seasonally.
Is your pool chlorinated and are towels provided?
We have a heated saltwater pool. We do provide towels. You can read about saltwater pools here.
Is there an indoor pool?
200 Main doesn't have an indoor pool on the property. However, as a guest of 200 Main, you have complimentary access to the heated indoor pool and fitness center at the Highlands Recreation Center year-round.
Is there a Hot Tub/Jacuzzi?
Yes, 200 Main has a year-round hot tub/Jacuzzi located next to the seasonal heated pool.
What is there to do on-property?
Enjoy the terrace with fire pit, fitness room, game room, hammocks, picnic tables and additional firepit in the park-like setting, outdoor heated pool (seasonal), and year-round Jacuzzi.
What sustainable practices does your hotel have?
As part of the holistic mountain resort, Old Edwards Hospitality Group (OEHG), with its focus on organic culinary and spa programs, 200 Main has sustainable and energy-efficient operations throughout the property. OEHG was the first hospitality provider in North Carolina to be awarded the NC Green Travel Award by the North Carolina Division of Environmental Assistance and Outreach (NCDEAO) and the Center of Sustainable Tourism at East Carolina. NCDEAO is a governmental branch of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDNR) that strives to protect the natural resources of North Carolina. The NC Green Travel awards are designed to encourage the tourism industry to "go green" by recognizing businesses that have established an energy team, recycle material, excel in water efficiency, practice energy conservation, and strive to practice green standards."
Is The Spa at Old Edwards open to 200 Main guests?
The Spa at Old Edwards is open to the public and a two-minute drive or ten-minute walk from 200 Main. Hotel guests have room-signing privileges and the spa amenities are available for spa guests with scheduled treatments only. Due to high demand, we suggest you make spa reservations upon booking your room to ensure availability. Book Online or call 828-526-9887 to book.
What does room-signing privileges mean?
As a guest of 200 Main, you are able to charge anything you purchase from an Old Edwards Hospitality Group property to your room. This includes Acorns, The Spa at Old Edwards, Four65 Woodfire Bistro and Bar, Madison's, The Wine Garden, Rooftop Terrace and Hummingbird Lounge.
Can I use the Old Edwards amenities?
Yes you can, and as a guest of 200 Main you have room signing privileges.
Madison's Restaurant and Wine Garden and Hummingbird Lounge are open to the public for lunch and dinner and only to guests at Old Edwards Inn and 200 Main for breakfast. The Spa is also open to the public for treatments and use of the spa amenities —including the Spa Café— on the day of treatment(s). Please call to reserve in advance for Madison's dining and any spa services, as these tend to book well in advance.
Another perk is access to the private Old Edwards Club. This Tom Jackson-designed course offers one of the most beautiful and challenging games of golf in Highlands. Guests at 200 Main may book a round of golf at the new Saddle— a lighted, 12-hole, par-three walking course in the private GlenCove community built for all ages and skill levels with a putting course and short-game practice area available.
Please note: Only guests staying at Old Edwards Inn have access to the pools and fitness center on that property.
Are there any hotel fees?
We don't charge any fees, just come and enjoy yourselves!
Is there electric vehicle charging?
Electronic vehicle charging stations are located in the 200 Main parking lot for hotel guest use only.
Are there any parking fees and do you have valet parking?
No. On-property parking is free for our guests. We do not have valet parking.
Would our company be able to hold a conference or retreat at 200 Main?
Yes, our Sycamore Room is a simple, yet comfortable meeting space, with a capacity of 42-90 people.
Does the hotel allow pets?
We accommodate one dog (dogs only) under 60 lbs. in a select few Standard rooms for a companion fee of $75 per night.
- Only one dog is permitted per room.
- Pet bowls and beds will be provided and placed in the guest room prior to arrival.
- Upon arrival, guests will be fully briefed on pet-friendly spaces and waste stations on the property, as well as pet-friendly locations around town.
- Pets are not allowed in indoor public spaces on the property, including but not limited to: the lobby, game room, conference room, fitness room or any other guest room at 200 Main. Nor may they accompany guests to the pool area.
- The pet must stay in the assigned guest room.
- If the pet is left in the room unattended, the "Do Not Disturb" sign must be placed on the door and the front desk must have a way to contact the guest. Please notify the front desk agent that you will be leaving so they are aware in case of an emergency. Please note that 200 Main and its parent company, Old Edwards Hospitality Group, are not responsible for the health/safety of unattended animals.
An additional fee of $250 will be charged...
- If an additional pet is brought into the room
- If the pet travels to any non-pet friendly rooms or public spaces on the property that are not designated pet friendly.
- As a minimum fee for pet damage (in the event of extensive damage, guests will be contacted with a repair estimate)
All reservations for dog-friendly rooms MUST be booked by phone 1-855-271-2809 or via central reservations email. Online booking is not available for dog-friendly rooms.
Only Service animals are allowed in rooms that are ADA accommodations or our select dog friendly rooms. Service animals are those defined under the American Disabilities act of 2010 which can be found here ADA Requirements: Service Animals
Do you have wi-fi?
Yes, we have complimentary wi-fi in guest rooms and public areas.
Do you have EV Chargers on property?
Yes, all three of our hotels have EnviroSpark electric vehicle charging stations. The charging rate is $3 per hour. Download the app and get started.
Can I use the Spa amenities if I don't have a scheduled appointment?

Do you provide shuttle service from the airports?
No. We do not operate a shuttle service to and from airports.
