Hosted Event with Walker Brothers Craft Kombucha
October 13 - 15, 2021 October 13, 2021 October 15, 2021 Old Edwards Hospitality Group
Constantly experimenting and innovating, Luke Walker has been working with natural foods since he started making and selling his own nut butters while attending Connecticut College. Now an expert in fermentation, he leads the production team for Walker Brothers, which was born from his personal health journey as a singer/songwriter struggling with voice- and throat-related health issues. After unsuccessful attempts at vocal therapy and consultations with doctors, it was an online discovery that prompted Luke to learn more about kombucha and how its benefits could make an impact on his gut health. Meanwhile, his love of craft beer still ran deep, and he began to dream of a high gravity kombucha reminiscent of craft beer but much better for his gut. Thus, he began to experiment with home-brewing a kombucha with naturally higher alcohol content, starting with the SCOBY that still fuels the Walker Brothers signature culture today. Meanwhile, Luke’s brother, Sam Walker, had been developing a career as a craft beer portfolio manager for a major Tennessee distributor, so the pair made for a very natural partnership, and the Walker Brothers brand was born.
Walker Brothers is focused on brewing things a little bit differently from its competitors. Boston-born brothers Sam and Luke are blending wellness with community by brewing high gravity kombucha as an alternative to craft beer, offering the same care and attention to detail, opportunity for connection, and thoughtful brewing practices, while creating an option for those who might be more wellness-minded, or who appreciate a funky and flavorful brew.
